Following a 30+ year career as a middle school principal and language arts teacher, I earned my Slant certificate and began tutoring students from the primary grades through high school. In addition to my role as a Slant tutor and coach for the past 11 years, I supervise teachers in the Alternative Licensure Program at Dominican University where I am an instructor in the School of Education. Wendy Moskovitz holds a Master's degree in Special Education and brings more than 20 years of experience in education and literacy intervention, working with students from early childhood through middle school in both classroom and one-on-one settings. As a certified Structured Literacy Teacher, Dyslexia Specialist, and private tutor, Wendy specializes in early reading intervention and science-of-reading–aligned instruction using the Slant System™, an Orton-Gillingham–aligned structured literacy program. While she provides support across a wide range of academic subjects, her primary focus is strengthening literacy skills and implementing evidence-based interventions that empower students to become confident, successful learners. In addition to working directly with students as a Literacy Specialist, Wendy also trains educators in the Slant System™, helping teachers incorporate effective, research-based literacy practices into their classrooms. Wendy is also the owner of Reading Rookies, an enrichment program designed for children ages 4–5 in their final year of preschool. This fun and interactive class focuses on the building blocks of reading and develops the essential skills every child needs to become a confident reader. Through thematic, multisensory instruction, games, crafts, and stories, Reading Rookies helps children build strong letter and sound knowledge while fostering a lifelong love of learning. Wendy is passionate about creating a student-centered learning environment that is individualized to meet each child's unique needs, regardless of where they are in their educational journey. She believes that hands-on, multisensory instruction is essential for keeping students engaged while building their skills and confidence.
